ASH WEDNESDAY

Wednesday 14th February, this year is Ash Wednesday. Masses will be celebrated in the parish at the following times: 7.00am, 10.00am (with the school Children) and 7.30pm. Distribution of Ashes will take place after each Mass. Ash Wednesday is a day of Fast and Abstinence when we are asked not to eat meat and to restrict our food intake to a minimum.  

LENT 2018

Ash Wednesday starts the beginning of our Lenten journey towards Easter. During Lent there will be an early morning Mass on Thursday mornings at 7.00am, this will commence on Thursday 22nd February.

TRÓCAIRE BOXES

The Trócaire boxes are available at the back of the Church.

RETREAT FOR READERS AND MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

The Annual Retreat for Readers and Minsters of Holy Communion will take place on Sunday 18th February, 2018 from 3-5pm , in the Fr. Peyton Centre. The Retreat will be led by Fr. Steve Gibson.

ATTYMASS NATIONAL SCHOOL

Kate and Sarah Melody, Ardrass, were medal winners at the recent Mayo Indoor Championships in athletics. Sarah competed in the under 9 age category and made it through the heats and semi-finals of the 60m sprint to secure a second place finish in the final. She anchored the Moy Valley AC relay team to bronze medals in the relay race. Kate is now the Mayo high jump champion for the under 12 category and was also on the Moy Valley AC relay team that won silver medals in the relay race.

PHOENIX PLAYERS

The Phoenix Players present "Buried Child" by Sam Shephard in St. Brigid's Hall, Tubbercurry on Thursday, 15th February and Friday, 16th February at 8pm. Great nights entertainment assured.

LADIES GROUP

Attymass Ladies Social group will meet on Tuesday evening at 8 pm in the Community Centre. New Members are Welcome.

ACHONRY LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

The Annual Achonry Lourdes Collection take place next weekend 17th and 18th February. The Pilgrimage takes place this year from the 2nd to 7th September. Each year the Pilgrimage brings about 30 people in the sick section. This collection helps to cover some of the cost involved. A Triduum of Masses has been offered in Lourdes for your kindness towards the pilgrimage.

FARM BASIC PAYMENT SCHEME 2018

The 2018 Basic Payment Scheme has opened for applications. It is open early this year as there are no more paper applications being accepted. If you are one of the 16000 applicants who has been informed by the DAFM that your application must be filed online this year call Siobhan Ward on 0879193371. We are available to help on Saturdays and Sundays.

Anam Cara the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding a Bereavement Information Evening on Thursday 15th February at 7:30pm in the Family Centre, Chapel Street, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. This is a free event and open to all bereaved parents. IRISH CANCER SOCIETY

The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. CEMETERY MASSES 2018

The Annual Cemetery Masses of the Parish will be celebrated on the following dates: Friday 3rd August, Old Killeen Cemetery at 8pm, Saturday 4th August, Bonnifinglas Cemetery at 8pm and Sunday 5th August at 11am New Killeen Cemetery. Please inform your family members who are away of these dates. If the weather is inclement the Masses will be celebrated in the Church.
