Wednesday 14th February, this year is
Ash Wednesday. Masses will be
celebrated in the parish at the following
times: 7.00am, 10.00am (with the school
Children) and 7.30pm. Distribution of
Ashes will take place after each Mass.
Ash Wednesday is a day of Fast and
Abstinence when we are asked not to eat
meat and to restrict our food intake to a
Ash Wednesday starts the beginning of our Lenten journey towards Easter.
During Lent there will be an early morning Mass on Thursday mornings at
7.00am, this will commence on Thursday 22nd February.
The Trócaire boxes are available at the back of the Church.
RETREAT FOR READERS AND MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
The Annual Retreat for Readers and Minsters of Holy Communion will take
place on Sunday 18th February, 2018 from 3-5pm , in the Fr. Peyton Centre.
The Retreat will be led by Fr. Steve Gibson.
Kate and Sarah Melody, Ardrass, were
medal winners at the recent Mayo Indoor
Championships in athletics. Sarah competed
in the under 9 age category and
made it through the heats and semi-finals
of the 60m sprint to secure a second place
finish in the final. She anchored the Moy
Valley AC relay team to bronze medals in
the relay race. Kate is now the Mayo high
jump champion for the under 12 category
and was also on the Moy Valley AC relay
team that won silver medals in the relay
The Phoenix Players present "Buried
Child" by Sam Shephard in St. Brigid's
Hall, Tubbercurry on Thursday, 15th February
and Friday, 16th February at 8pm.
Great nights entertainment assured.
Attymass Ladies Social group will meet on Tuesday evening at 8 pm in the
Community Centre. New Members are Welcome.
The Annual Achonry Lourdes Collection
take place next weekend 17th and 18th
February. The Pilgrimage takes place this
year from the 2nd to 7th September. Each
year the Pilgrimage brings about 30
people in the sick section. This collection
helps to cover some of the cost involved.

Bereavement Information Evening on Thursday 15th February at 7:30pm in the

IRISH CANCER SOCIETY
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients
attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the
patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then
when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer
expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should
