BEREAVEMENT: Prayers are requested for Jack Corocran, Ballymore and formerly of Motherwell, Scotland – following a short illness at Mayo University Hospital. Reposing at his residence on Monday evening from 5 o’clock until 9 o’clock and on Tuesday evening from 4 o’clock with removal at 6.30 to the Church of the Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph, Attymass arriving at 7 o’clock.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12 o’clock followed by burial in Killeen Old Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to COPD c/o Gallagher Funeral Directors, Bonniconlon.

LADIES SOCIAL GROUP


The Group meets Monday evening at 8 pm in the Community Centre. New Members Welcome.

SENIOR CITIZEN GROUP


Mass for the deceased members of the Fr. Peyton Centre Senior Citizen Group will be held on Tuesday 21st November at 12.15 pm. Family members are welcome to attend.

PARISH BEREAVEMENT SERVICE


The Annual Parish Bereavement Service will take place on next Sunday 26th November between 5-6pm, We will remember those who died in the parish between November 2016 and October 2017 and we welcome the inclusion of names of relatives who may have died elsewhere during this time. Please let us know by Friday 24th November.


WEDDING BELLS


Congratulations and best wishes to Denise Melody and Philip Harrison who were married in Attymass Church, on Saturday 4th November. We wish them every blessing and happiness in their married life.

COOKERY DEMONSTRATION


A Christmas Cookery Demonstration is being held in the Community Centre on Thursday 7th December at 7.30 pm, by renowned chef Ronan Fox. BCRFM, Ballina Community Radio are broadcasting live from the community centre on the night. There is a complimentary raffle & mulled wine reception. NOVEMBER MASSES


There will be a 7am morning Mass on the Thursdays during November– there will be no 9.30am Mass.

HEALTH CARE COURSE


Mayo North East LEADER Partnership Company is organising a free Healthcare Support Training Course in Swinford for unemployed people or people in part-time employment who are interested in pursuing a career as a care assistant. On successful completion of the course learners will have gained a Healthcare Support QQI Level 5 Major award. Garda Vetting must be successfully completed. Training will commence one day per week in January 2018 and conclude in July 2018. Latest date for receipt of application is Friday 8th of December. WESTERN CARE BINGO


The Western Care Association Annual €10,000 Monster Christmas Bingo will take place in Breaffy Sports Arena at Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar on Sunday, November 26th 2017. THE ICON OF THE HOLY FAMILY, WMOF 18


THE ICON of the Holy Family, consecrated for the World Meeting of Families 2018, will visit the diocese next month from December 1st through to December 11th. There will be three Parishes/Venues hosting the ICON: Holy Family Kiltimagh (December 1st-5th), Father Peyton Centre, Attymass (December 5th-7th) and Immaculate Conception, Ballymote (December 7th- 11th) All are invited to come along to any of these locations and to spend a bit of time in prayer in the presence of the Icon.

ROSARY ON THE COAST


Over the last two months over a million Polish faithful travelled to the borders of their country to pray for the preservation of the faith including the protection of the Unborn Child in Poland. Ireland’s faithful are now being asked to pray for the preservation of the faith especially among the youth and to pray for protection for our Unborn babies, in the island of Ireland. The "Rosary on the Coasts for Life and Faith" takes place on Sunday 26 November, the Feast of Christ the King. GLAS TRAINING


Ward Agricultural Consultants have holding Glas Training Days locally on Saturday 25th of November and Saturday 2nd December. TREE OF REMEMBRANCE


Remembering is a very special to all of us during the month of November. We have place a tree in the sanctuary called the tree of remembrance, where we can write the names of our loved ones and hang them on the tree and these become it’s special leaves.

SHINE A LIGHT


You can sponsor a light on the Hospice Christmas Tree in Knock for someone you know, living & deceased, at all pharmacies in Mayo & Roscommon, Hospice shops & Knock Shrine. The Tree Lighting ceremony takes place in Knock at 2pm on Sunday 3rd December following a 5km memorial walk. All welcome. Contact 0949388666.

MEMORIAL WALK


The Mayo Roscommon Hospice Memorial 5km Walk takes place December 3rd in Knock at 1pm to mark the beginning of the 25th anniversary of Palliative Care Services in Mayo and Roscommon. Registration is now open on Eventbrite or through the Hospice Office. Cost of registration is €15 per person and includes a souvenir t-shirt. The parish web-site, www.attymass.ie, is undergoing a major overhaul to update content and to make the site more compatible with the mobile devices which many of us use today to access the web. During the process latest news, contact details etc will still be accessible. New sections will be added as they are completed.
